Fall is Here and There's a Chill in the Air

Today Buddy mowed leaves...not grass.

I think I see the reflection of my house.
My birdbath is made from a $1.00 glass lightbulb cover from Goodwill.

The leaves are starting to float and then sink.

This is how I feel some days... a bit off of plum.

Not a very appetizing place to sit at the moment...needs to be cleaned off.

My favorite seat....at least 20 years old.

When the leaves start falling, it is definitely lap quilt time.
These are two I made this summer...all cotton and very cozy.

Bud and I have the most beautiful road to drive to and from town. These are the sites we see. They are so relaxing and the temperatures are always cooler by several degrees. We live in a very special place...our little corner of the world.

Orchids at The U.S. Botanic Garden and Conservatory

The U.S. Botanic Garden, established by Congress in 1820, is a living plant museum located on the National Mall across from the U.S. Capitol. The Conservatory reopened in December 2001 after a four-year renovation, showcasing an impressive state-of-the-art indoor garden with approximately 4,000 seasonal, tropical and subtropical plants. The U.S. Botanic Garden is administered by the Architect of the Capitol and offers special exhibits and educational programs throughout the year.

The U.S. Botanic Garden is located across from the U.S. Capitol Building along First St. SW, between Maryland Ave. and C St. Bartholdi Park sits behind the Conservatory and is accessible from Independence Ave., Washington Ave. or First St. The closest Metro station is Federal Center SW.

The following pictures were taken from the site. If you are ever in Washington, be sure to go. It is fabulous.

The Last Day of Rockbridge Middle School

The Final Good-Byes
Our Beautiful School Is Closed for Good...No More
A Sad, Sad Day but One Filled with LOVE

Memories of the Last Day at Rockbridge Middle School
We all wore black and white.
I am the one in the Bermuda shorts, long sleeved shirt, and baseball cap.
As things turned out, I was able to get another teaching job with the county :-)

Take Off at Big Spring

One minute everything is still and quiet...just swimmin' along on a beautiful day.

Then, without a hint, we have take-off with ripple going every which way.
