Genie Finally Shot the Moon!

This was our view of the sky as we walked across the parking to Whole Foods in Charlottesville, Virginia, to do our grocery shopping.

Now, just look at what we saw walking out the door after a wonderful supper. I could not believe my eyes. It was the moon, and it was a big moon, and I had my camera. Hip-Hip Hooray! I was one euphoric old lady. Thank goodness I had my Canon Rebel with me. Before Buddy could say “Calm Down, Dear,” I was out there in the parking lot clicking away. I cannot believe the pictures even came out because it my first solo try at shooting the moon. I have no idea if this is a good shot or a not so good one, but since it  is my FIRST one I think it is superb!  I am such a happy camper.

A country so rich that it can send people to the moon still has hundreds of thousands of its citizens who can’t read. That’s terribly troubling to me.”

A Grandmother’s Glorious World ~ The Elf Hunt

My Eloise {in the little jacket} turned 7 this weekend. The photos were all taken at Bryan Park in Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday. She and her friend, Georgia, are elf hunting amongst the trees and the azaleas and doing a bit of posing for me and my trusty camera. It was a gorgeous day and all the flowers were in full bloom. Thank goodness Richmond is only 3 hours from our door in Lexington to theirs.

A Granddaughter is so special
She will fill your life with love
Like a rainbow made with sunshine
When rain falls from above
Precious memories she will give you
Many heartaches and some tears
She's a treasure that is priceless
That will last you all your years
