A Grandmother’s Glorious World ~ The Elf Hunt

My Eloise {in the little jacket} turned 7 this weekend. The photos were all taken at Bryan Park in Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday. She and her friend, Georgia, are elf hunting amongst the trees and the azaleas and doing a bit of posing for me and my trusty camera. It was a gorgeous day and all the flowers were in full bloom. Thank goodness Richmond is only 3 hours from our door in Lexington to theirs.

A Granddaughter is so special
She will fill your life with love
Like a rainbow made with sunshine
When rain falls from above
Precious memories she will give you
Many heartaches and some tears
She's a treasure that is priceless
That will last you all your years

My post this week is  linked with the following memes:

  1. Adorable little girls. I bet they are forever best friends. Love that Eloise.
I copied your poem. So true.
I posted about two of my grands today about their sleepover.
Countdown is on.....hope you are doing okay.

  2. Wonderful shots. The kids are having real great time.

  3. I would love to have your "models" for a day or two.

I have forsaken word verification when it got to two worda--rdiculous.

  4. How lovely! The photos are awesome and Happy Birthday to Eloise:)

  5. Nothing like a grandmother's Love!
The fun you had with those lovely girls comes shining through.

  6. Smiles are beautiful - lovely photos - love the B & W
Noticed you got some really huge tree burrs on those trees. WOW

  7. Ay the carefree years of youth. The girls look so happy. Today is my grandson's 9th birthday. Happy Birthday to Eloise.

  8. I'm so glad you chose to take these shots in black and white. I think in colour they would have looked like everyday little girls, but this way they look like ethereal beings in a misty garden -just beautiful! :)

  9. Lovely and the B&W -- and the verse -- makes me think of my own grandmother as well as my granddaughter... who is about 2 decades older than Eloise, but no less precious!

  10. Just beautiful in black and white! I love the whispiness of their hair and the light ~ magical!

  11. They look like they are having fun!

  12. Genie, the girls are just so cute! We used to look for Borrower's holes in the base of trees. Our daughter loved the Borrower's books.

  13. Just lovely Genie! The processing is excellent.
