A Tulip Doesn't Strive to Impress Anyone

W00-HOO ~ ANOTHER SNOW DAY WITH NO SNOW

This is my world right how: eating, sleeping, working, and spending lots and lot of time on my eCourse. I am having oodles of fun, but there just don't seem to be enough hours in the day for me. These are pictures taken with my 50mm in my new white room Buddy painted for me for my 74th. I am such a happy camper. At the moment we are studying DOF and light. These pictures were taken on February 22, 2013.

Soft and White

When taking some pictures of tulips, I wondered how many of you remember Tiny Tim with his ukulele singing “Tiptoe through the Tulips?”  I still laugh thinking about him.

If I was a Tulip

The Shield’s Barn on Kerrs Creek

This is the Shield’s Barn which is located about 4 miles from our place. My 46 year old son was great friends with their son. All the guys out here on the creek hung out together through their teenage years and had a great, low key style of life together. It was a wonderful time. This is still a working family barn and in pretty good condition.

Daily Photo ~ Texture Tuesday ~ 7-27-11

Experimentation with Texture and Adjustments

 For a long time, I have been wanting to learn how to shoot still life photos against a white background. Yesterday I finally found an old and heavy wooden box with oval openings on the sides for gripping at our local “antique” mall ($8.00). From there I went straight to Wally World, picked up a can of white paint for $3.00,  two 50 cent foam brushes, drove home, and gave the box a single coat. Now the fun has begins.

Our prompt from Kim this week was “DREAM.” Well, it has been my dream for ages to learn how to use textures to enhance my pictures. I have taken two of Kim’s classes, have her recipe book, subscribed to her kitchen, but I am still struggling with the technique. For this shot I used her “frosted” texture in conjunction with the CoffeeShop Vintage Frame.
