This old and no longer used horse trailer sits on the same side of the road as our place and is about a quarter of a mile away.
Pretend you are standing at the end of the horse trailer where the horse would enter and with your back to the door. This is the scene you will see. In the distance (first shot) is our barn. Remember my telling you how the power company came out and without telling us cut one entire side of our trees away? Well, those are the trees on the left. Their branches completely covered the lighted area of the swath (first shot). Where you see the dark area were briars and brambles. Then to the right of the main power line (second shot) the people brought in to do the cutting also wiped out many of the branches on the that side. They took way over any 15 feet of tree branches in all, entire trees, and ALL of our berry bushes. Finally, after my multiple calls, it was cleaned up to suit me, but I am still NOT a happy camper.
This is a just-for-fun inversion of shot one above. I think it is pretty cool. I am trying to leave my safety zone and experiment. When I look at bodies of work like are posted each week, I have to tell myself to get out there and try something even if it turns out to be a dud in my eyes. What befuddles me the most is some of the shots I upload, the ones I think are never going to be what I want them to be, are often the ones people like. Sometimes...or maybe a lot of the time...my rigidity gets in the way of my creativity. I tend to want everything perfectly plumb, and colors just so, and the lighting basically darker than most. As I have said many times in the past, I take all of your constructive criticisms to heart and every time you give me a suggestion I give it a try.
