Cranberry Bogs ~ West Virginia

On Saturday, August 16th, Buddy and I drove over to WV to walk through Cranberry Bogs. This time there were flowers to see and lots of pictures to take. After a long summer inside, it was heavenly to get back out in the woods. The day was gorgeous and the temperature perfect. We had the best time. There’s a bunch of photos in this post, so just whippy-doodle right on through them. I culled lots, but these were my favorites.

These are all taken along the boardwalk through the glade.

WHY? ALWAYS THE GRAFFITI :-(

AGAIN.....WHY??? ALWAYS THE GRAFFITI :-(

These are the flowers we saw. They were all so pretty.

Here we have some bees and a hummingbird moth.

Signs, Signs & Lots of Shadows ~ 10-12-11

Some of the signs from our hike through
the Cranberry Glade in West Virginia.

(Sorry about the 2 errors in my listing of this post. Guess that is what happens after one goes without internet for almost 3 weeks...or else I am just getting too old!)

There are more photos from the hike in an earlier post. Actually, it is the second “genie~va~us” in Lesley’s Linky list.

The Cranberry Glades/Bogs of West Virginia ~ 10-12-11

PIctures from our beautiful hike over in
West Virginia last Saturday.

This is the boardwalk throughout the bogs. It is a circular route.
The couple up in front were so cute...they asked me to take a photo of them.

An Outdoor Wednesday from West Virginia

A Saturday hike through the Cranberry Bogs/Glades in West Virginia.
We call these "cotton puffs,”  but I am not sure what the correct name is for them. The blog flowers were not in bloom, and the birds were few, but the watery bogs and all of the trees, ferns and other ground plants were a true treat for the eyes. We were on a boardwalk from beginning to end so that was really nice for me.
