The Waters of Bud's 2012 Hike in the Mountains of NH and MA

This summer for three weeks Buddy hiked the mountains of Maine and New Hampshire. I am a bit late posting his pictures because I was waiting for all the vacation trips to be completed. This first installment is a selection of shots taken of the lakes, water holes, creeks, and waterfalls he saw along his way. I usually post my pictures in "large" format, but because there were so many in this series I decided to use "medium" to cut down on the time loading. All of them were taken with Buddy's new Canon PowerShot D20.  It is waterproof to10m/33Ft and shockproof to 1.5m/5ft. He both dropped it on dry land as well as in water and it survived without any damage. It is 12.1mp, has a 5X zoom, a 3"screen and ranges from $280.00 up to $390.00 depending upon where you purchase it. All I can say is it is one FINE point and shoot camera for the money. Now I want one :-)

This one has to be my favorite so I weakened
and used the "large" format.

  6. What a great set of pictures! Point and shot or not, they are still really great.

I think we (me I mean!) can get to obsessed with gear, and forget that you see the picture in your eye before you press the shutter - and seeing a good picture is the difficult bit!

  14. Thanks to you and Buddy for these wonderful pictures -- that swirling water is amazing! And also for the info about the camera -- I am starting to shop for a new one. (Well actually the shopper in the family -- not me -- is starting to do the research and I'll let him know about this one!)

  21. My husband and I visited Bar Harbor, Maine in May. I took a lot of photographs and haven't posted very many on my blog but will off and on during the next few months. Maine is a place where one can aim and shoot and there is such a calmness and poetic beauty transferred on the image. Lovely, just a lovely state to visit.
