Little Shed

I think this is a little shed out from the main house, but I like to think of it as a playhouse for a little girl or boy.

This post is linked with Friday Fences.

  1. I love weathered buildings like this one...I always have to photograph them too, there is something so alluring about them.

  5. The vine covering one side of the building certainly gives it added character. I'm always fond of split-rail fences.

  8. That old shed has a history -- too bad it can't talk. I like the tones of your first image -- well done!

  9. It would be a great place for kids to play. Love the weathered boards and the ivy growing up the side. Have a great weekend, Genie. Mickie :)

  10. So much more character than the ugly bought shed that we use when don't have a garage. Mine is in sad state now--rusting. I'm trying to let vines cover it over like this one. How did you achieve the almost B & W quality of these photos? Like it very much.

  11. I like this from both angles.
The weathered wood and fence really spoke to me in the first one and then the added vines and six paned window just upped the charm a few degrees.

  12. A quaint old shed - sheds here are more likely to be retreats for the man of the house where he keeps his working tools rather than playhouses.

  19. My dear B-I-L did build a little playhouse just like this for his two girls, my nieces. The natural wood fence fits perfectly. I like how you desat the first image to give it an even more weathered look, Genie.
