Lines of Snow

These deck step shots were taken during the snow last week. Now, the weatherman says we are to get 3-6 inches come Sunday. What's wrong with this picture? I thought it was supposed to be spring. I've seen enough wet snow for one year, and I know Buddy has shoveled enough. Please, Mr. Weatherman, change your forecast.

Library in Black and White

Last week many of you were curious to know what this image was that I posted for "Weekend in Black and White.”  Well, here is your answer. It’s the grate allowing the heat from the furnace to rise and warm the room during winter. I thought it looked interesting taken from such a slanted angle.

Here you can see the book shelf, the heat grate above the books, and one of many windows which run the length of the room.

Here is a close up of the grate back against the window.

This shot shows the radiator grate running the length of the shelf above the books with all of the windows and shades.

Pedestrian Bridge over Railroad Tracks

Pedestrian Bridge (I think) over the Train Tracks in Roanoke, VA.

These are valuable photos considering I tripped on the irregular concrete walkway looking UP for these shots instead of looking down and where I was walking. I have already destroyed two Canon point and shoot cameras walking and shooting at the same time, but my trusty Rebel survived this little old lady's belly flop today. I guess the old saying is true....”You can’t teach old dogs (ladies) new tricks!”

Macro Monday ~ Hand Pump in Blue

This hand pump has the tropical and warm colors...the blues of the waters and then oranges and lush greens.

I am totally fascinated by old nuts and blots, wires, bridges, and anything with a linear quality. Today on our hike at Douthat State Park I found this old hand water pump. It immediately said “tropical and warm colors” so I couldn’t resist shooting it. The colors on the metal are just as they are in this picture.
