Pedestrian Bridge (I think) over the Train Tracks in Roanoke, VA.
These are valuable photos considering I tripped on the irregular concrete walkway looking UP for these shots instead of looking down and where I was walking. I have already destroyed two Canon point and shoot cameras walking and shooting at the same time, but my trusty Rebel survived this little old lady's belly flop today. I guess the old saying is true....”You can’t teach old dogs (ladies) new tricks!”
I love seeing these sorts of bridges over railway lines. Especially the old ones.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual lamp in first photo - the one on the right. Nice ?train wheels I think. Love the black n white lines of the fences, bridge, railing and structure holding up lights. Black n white really brings out the lines.
ReplyDeletesweet girl! do be careful!
ReplyDeletePlease be careful! I enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteTake care where you walk! The photos are great in spite of your fall. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteLove the incline shot in the first one. Our walkways over train tracks tend toward the switchback design so you end up going back and forth and it feels like such a longer walk than necessary.
ReplyDeletewalking while photographing can be a dangerous duo. Keep your head up girlfriend! Nice shots of the pedestrian bridge and tracks... I think I've been down to that same area, but not in a while, in fact I hear a Roanoke train whistle right now. LOL
ReplyDeleteEyes on path and be careful! No photo is worth falling.
ReplyDeleteDo be careful Genie. I really like the B&W you are doing. Great stuff. Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteI won't tell you to be careful you wouldn't listen anyway.
ReplyDeleteDoes a damaged camera lead to an upgraded camera for every spill?
Seriously, watch you step.
HMD to you!
I'm sorry about your fall but the shots are very good.
ReplyDeleteNice! Glad you're okay...believe me, I've had numerous mishaps while pointing and shooting!
ReplyDeleteLovely!

2nd comment - Dear Genie - I do hope your injuries are feeling better and the nurse in me would put you in a soft chair, give you a book to read and write your blog for you till your wounds healed. That would be in about 1/2 hr, right. ha,ha Just wanted to write back and thank you for the lovely note and if I was anywhere near Seattle, when you guyz are there, you could count on us taking photos together, eating fine food and posting. he,he. Take care
ReplyDeleteWe could get in some kind of good trouble together, eh!
Genie, these are so wonderful in black and white!
ReplyDeleteHope you are okay. Be careful.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, be careful out there lady! Lovely bridge.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice to have these in monochrome. Accentuates all the nice lines of the bridge and surroundings. And Genie friend, you stop right now with the "old" stuff. You are what you think, and you know darn well there's a fun-loving, creative, young soul in there that defines you... Never miind the falls... just keep shooting. Okay :-)
