I included it because it was such a great looking car.
I just had to include these two of the Desoto because after college I had one that was painted pink and purple and had four doors. I think the top was pink and the bottom purple. The back seat folded forward so you could sleep back there, and instead of having a regular automatic transmission it was a push button one. It was a chrome looking square on the left side of the steering wheel, sitting against the dashboard, and had push buttons: top, bottom, left, and right. All I can say is...it was one cool car!
This is a 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle. We owned one that looked just like this until it was totaled by volunteer fire department truck. The bug was parked on the left just past the intersection. The driver ran the red light, hit a lady and her car that was about to go through the intersection with a green light. After smashing into her, he lost control and took out my VW. The city did not have to pay a dime because it was an emergency vehicle going to an emergency!
