My First Butterfly of 2013

I went to my butterfly books to identify this one. It looks to me to be a Morning Cloak. While reading about it, I learned in the 1800's it was thought to be venomous and capable of inflicting dangerous wounds. It may look ferocious, but it is benign and is covered with spines and hairs.

The Babies Gotta Be Fed

SOOC

"There is nothing in which the birds differ more from man
than the way in which they can build and yet leave
a landscape as it was before."

Mr. and Mrs. Red and Woody on a Snowy Day Last Week

Here are some mosaics I made in PSE11 for my BB2 Class #8. The pictures were taken last week during that heavy wet snow. As you can see, I was experimenting with adding type in the second collection. This was the easiest-peasiest thing to do ever. Just a couple of clicks and the pictures were out of the old photo bin and into a mosaic.

Two LIttle Birds Sitting in a Tree

THE STATE BIRD OF VIRGINIA

I think I see someone...

OK...I'm gonna go for it...

I was right...Look who's comin'...

 Whoa...Things are looking up...

Two little birds sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G...
and go away you nosey birds and give us some privacy...

I have a feeling this is just too good to last...

Dog-Gone-It - I was right. It was too good to last.

So Sad

This sweet white-winged Junko flew into our front porch glass storm door the other day and died immediately. My friend who is a birder came over a short while later and helped me to identfy it. He pulled out the feathers so I could see the white. After I took the pictures, we gave him a proper burial.
