March 3, 2016 ~ One Pretty House

"Life loves the liver of it."
~Maya Angelou

A Home in Buena Vista, Virginia

Every Monday I eat lunch with a friend of mine in what we call BV...a.k.a. Buena Vista. As I was leaving and driving through the residential section, I came across this house, fence, and gate in such beautiful condition. Nothing was out of place. It was so pretty. Then when I stopped to take the picture, I discovered all of the shadows in the street and on the tree and even some reflections of the trees in the upstairs windows. I would love to sell this big old house with all of its upkeep and move to a little place like this. I would be such a happy camper.

#12 ~ No Working during Drinking Hours

Strength is the ability of break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands - and then eat just one of those pieces.
~Judith Viorst

Today I went to visit a friend of mine, and on the way home decided to treat Buddy to some
BBQ for his lunch from Ted’s in Buena Vista. There they make their BBQ with tomatoes and not vinegar. I got him his beloved cold slaw and me some potato salad, and then some non-hot sauce...hahahaha...no such thing. While waiting, I saw this sign so had to run out in 18 degree temps to get my iPhone. I thought it was too funky to pass up. I also liked the idea that "Only the Finest" are served at the bar.  I wonder how Ted defines “finest."

Citizens and Grouches

As you drive into the little town of Buena Vista, VA, this sign is way up on the side of an old vintage building on the corner but with a telephone pole in front of it. Bud sat in the car shaking his head as I climbed out into the middle of the street to take the picture.
