Red Barn ~ Rockbridge County, VA

A barn sketch of mine that I did on the way to NC last week from an old barn book I had. I did add sone bit and pieces of my own like the pathetic fencing, the doors, and the hinges and handles on them. I did it with first with a hard sketching pencil and then with pen and ink in my art journal. I actually posted this with my Sunday Sketches post, but thought it would be fun to add it here since it was a barn.

My post is linked to Tom, the Backroad's Traveller's Barn Collective.

  1. Great little sketch! It's fun to keep drawings like this - I find it's a bit like a diary and helps remember what you've been up to :) Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier!

  2. Hey Genie, I see that you are giving Grandma Moses a run for her money...nice job. Your first barn is a style that I rarely up here in New York State. Thanks for stopping this week and I'll be looking to more barns from "Old Virginie."

  4. What a wonderful sketch, so detailed and lovely! The photos are beauties too. The reason I used photoshop to put my sketch on top of some of my options was to narrow down the options to the ones I felt were the strongest...
