James River Foot Bridge

James River Foot Bridge at Snowden, Virginia.
The James River Foot Bridge is the longest pedestrian-only bridge
on the Appalachian Trail, according to the Appalachian Conservancy.
Sometimes when we are there, we are lucky enough to see a train crossing
the river on its tracks. It is in pretty rough condition.

  6. A lovely part of the country. However, if the fence and bridge are not strong, I will just stay on the other side.

  16. This is a beautiful series of photos. We have an old train bridge in the city that crosses the river and it's now a part of the walking trail. It makes for beautiful views too. Pamela

  20. Beautiful black and whites. Love that footbridge. You keep on getting better and better. Today I got the books. Thank you so much for thinking of me. You are too sweet. We had someone drop out of the swap. I asked one of the previous swappers....Holly, and she said she would. Yeah.

  21. Wonderful black and whites Genie. That is one very long bridge. Thank Buddy for giving me his time. No I have no run coming up. Those days are behind me although maybe someday I might do something stupid. But just for now I am happy to just run for the sheer pleasure of it. I use Buddy for inspiration as I know he is years older than I. He gives me a future to look forward to.

  29. What a gorgeous land you inhabit! The footbridge is a work of art as it croses the river. Thus we can amble from one side of paradise to the other!
