Smart Move! Gotta Use Porta Potty BEFORE Race Begins

Here We Have the Man in the Furry Hat Ready to Blow the Starting Horn

Buddy really does want to run a marathon before he turns 60 (September is not far away), or during his 60th year (that gives him a wee bit more training time). He has to be able to run the half-marathon in 2 hrs 99 secs
to make the cut and qualify. He was so in hopes he would do it this time, but he came in at 3 hours and 3 seconds. He was bummed out over those 4 troublesome seconds, but he is like me. When we set goals, we work until we met them.

  2. Buddy, what happen to that finishing kick? Pay me no mind. I no longer have a half in me. Try again; you'll do it.

  4. This was a fantastic accomplishment! Buddy should be proud. It looked so cold at the beginning of the race--I'm sure that was why he was 4 seconds "off"--it took that long to thaw out!

  7. Buddy for sure deserves so much for just completing, Congratulations!
I don't know about these Yankees Genie. I don't think their hearts are in it yet. No help from the pitchers either. I'm afraid Hughes is on his way out. Welcome back Pettitte. Maybe they are just hanging back. I really like Curtis Granderson!
Have a great rest of the week.

  8. Great photos!

What trauma you had with the fire... That you lost so many acres of wilderness. That's sad.

  10. Knee problems keep me from running, but I did a couple of marathons (Ottawa and Skylon) in the 1980's and I can really relate to Buddy's experience. Loved the makeshift waterproof cover, the fur hat on the starter, and just the tone of this post. Kudos to Buddy. I know those 4 seconds were heartbreaking, but he did the run! More power to him!
