Rockbridge County, VA, is an area of rock, hills, mountains, rivers, and lots of farms. I found this one last week and wish I could tell you which way the cows were going...to the old barn atop the hill, and just rambling down the hill. Maybe they were just grazing in more or less of a line. Who knows? I do think they add personality and charm to the pictures. I do know one thing....barns, cows, and old farm houses are definitely my world way out here in the county.

i do like how they're strung along in that first photo.
ReplyDelete(hope your 73rd was a great day!!!)
I love seeing cows and barns in a photo together.
ReplyDeleteFun post for the day and I do love the way they're all strung out in a line! And, hey! A birthday? Happy 73rd! I can almost remember my 73rd!! Almost!! Have a great week, Genie!

I saw how the cows zig-zagged up the hill and wondered why the farmer strung out the hay that way. Maybe each one needs their space at meal time. :)
ReplyDeleteLike the barn on top of the hill against the sky.
Best Wishes for a very Happy Birthday tomorrow!!
I'm sure there was some sort of pattern that only cows know about!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice old barn and the cows really add to the photo.
ReplyDeletei feel like i've seen this barn before... i did a double take ... i'll think on that. cow are so funny ... the paths that they make through the fields. (:
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the barn on top of the hill and the cows in a line! Happy Birthday too!
ReplyDeleteOh they know how to follow the leader. ^_^
ReplyDeleteRed Barn
A nice series of photos.
ReplyDeleteLove how you included the cow-path!
ReplyDeleteI like the first shot with the cows stretched out along the hill. Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the cows do add character and charm to the photos. It's so cute that they form some sort of an orderly pattern.
ReplyDeletei love the little path of cows leading up to the barn!
ReplyDeleteOh I DO hope there really is a trail named Muddy Lane near that barn.
ReplyDeleteIf those were dairy cows, and if it was close to 5 am or pm, they would be going in a line like that toward the barn to be milked. That is a common sight here in Wisconsin - - - only MOST of the cows would be the traditional black and white Holsteins.
Nice barn with a cow fence!
ReplyDeleteI love having cows/horses/chickens in pictures with barns. They sure add to them.
ReplyDeleteThe cows look like they are off on a grand adventure.
ReplyDeleteFun! It looks like the farmer may have dumped hay out along that path that the cows are taking. The rest looks pretty well picked over, so that's the easiest food to get.
ReplyDeleteLove the top one with the cattle dotting the way up the hill...
ReplyDeleteThat IS funny how they're lined up like that! LoL! The barn is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe landscape in these shots look a lot like the landscape west of here in south central Missouri, very hilly w/ lots of farms dotting the countryside.
Thanks for joining =)
That's a great old barn and the cows only add to the charm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comments on my barn picture.
Happy 73rd birthday. I am almost there.
