Fencing on White Rock Road


This style of fencing is what I see the most on the back country roads of Rockbridge County. It consists of roughly, hand cut posts with wire stretched and tacked between them. The gates are usually the red metal ones. Nothing fancy, but it works just fine....and it has to be a lot cheaper than the fancier styles I see on the big farms with the horses. White Rock Road is the closest “side road” to our house, so this is a view we see quite often. It is beautiful.

    Wonderful view and surroundings. You live in a very beautiful place. I love the country road and fenceposts in a row. The meadow looks so peaceful. Wish we had those beautiful trees in California! New follower!

    What a beautiful mountian view you have, Genie! I love the autumn colors. That fence style is very rustic and pretty.

    Genie, Beautiful Fall setting with gorgeous color on the trees. Have a great time in Richmond and take lots of pictures of Eloise. What fun you'll have.     Lovely Genie -- I remember seeing those kind when we traveled up your way a year ago (more than that now). The colors are gorgeous in these pix too.

    That is "serious" fencing! There is no room for wiggling through. What kind of animals are on the other side?

    Such glorious countryside! And even the fencing seems to add to the atmosphere! Love the contrats of golds and blues in the second photo!

    I am just loving your photos of the VA mountains. We live in one of the most beautiful parts of the U.S. Next week I'm looking forward to a drive in the mountains of eastern KY. Hope I'll see scenes similar to those in your photos.
