Hide and Seek
In my part of world, hunting in the woods for mushrooms is a way of wife. We eat only the ones sold at the grocery store since we cannot tell the good ones from the bad. Do any of you know if these are edible or not? They are growing beside our barn where we keep our mulch pile.

Don's mom could go out in the woods and pick mushrooms in her day but I'm too scared to eat something she picks now that her eyes are not as good...lol...Don said they were really wrinkled looking.
ReplyDeleteDon't know which ones they are, but what a great B&W capture for the day! Hope you have a wonderful day!

No idea of whether they're edible, but I love the treatment. Very earthy.
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting picture. I stick with the ones from the store--you just "never know"! Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteThis photo shows up the texture of the mushrooms quite well. I have no idea what is safe - hate the little beggars. Yet, strangely, I like to look at them, just not eat them!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to purchase mine as well, Genie!
ReplyDeleteI would never eat these if I didn't know if it was safe. Recently I read about a man who died by eating poissend mushrooms. Don't take the risk, I should say.
ReplyDeleteI love mushrooms but have never known how to identify them. I do know people who can but I'd be too scared. I love to photograph them and your shot is great.
ReplyDeleteThey say vivid colored ones are poisonous, but alway there is exception. dangerous・・・
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
Great shot. Even me can not differentiate them and we buy only at the stores.
ReplyDeleteThe shape looks like Japanese shiitake mushroom, but without colors I have almost no idea. You must be careful about poisoning. Fantastic B&W photo with a nice title "hide and seek."
