You never know what you are going to see on our road...this is across and up just a bit. I thought the people up there only knew how to rev engines, ride 4 wheelers up and down the road, play loud music at night that we can hear, shoot off guns and firecrackers day and night all year long. Little did I know we had a “painter” living up there in one of the trailers. Thank heavens they are hidden by trees from our view. When I bought the farm, it was all farm land over there. Then about 20 years ago the owner decided to pull in 3 old trailers and rent them. Sadly we own only the land behind and on both sides of us....not across the road. This picture was taken BEFORE the devastating wind storm we had.
This is after the storm and taken just tonight. The sign has been in those bushes for weeks now, and I do not even think they know it is over here. I am waiting to see if they will finally notice it. If not I will put it beside their driveway in a few more weeks.
I love the idea that “VIEW” is the only word we see.
Since Buddy is out hiking right now, I could not resist adding this to the post. I used it last year when he went hiking for a month in Vermont, but I thought it would be fun to post it again this year.

you have neighbors like i have neighbors! thank goodness we have heavy tree lines so i only have to hear them when the wind is 'right'. :)
ReplyDeletei used to have noisy neighbors--we called them neighbors from hell! i'm glad i moved to a quiet village, with only some karaoke singing on weekends.:p
ReplyDeletewonderful signs!
Signs
Take their sign out from the bushes, stick it back into the ground and write "FOR SALE" on it. Then sit back in your house and watch the fun. Give us a Buddy post when you can.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the noisy neighbours. Top that we are currently surrounded by two construction sites. Imagine the noise and dust. We are also having strong winds these days.
ReplyDeleteNeighbours, you can't choose them and have to live with them. Sometimes they are friends and sometimes not. I should throw the sign away, it has blown away anyway and they don't seem to miss it.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has at least one annoying neighbor at some point. That's a great bumper sticker!
ReplyDeleteWow! That must have been some wind storm! Not good when neighbours rev engines constantly! Unsettles the nerves and the patience! Do like your wry humour about only "view" being seen!
ReplyDeletethey shoot guns!! that would make me crazy
ReplyDeleteand angry
I too love that the word view is all that can be seen
hope you didn't have too much damage
Is it better to have a noisy neighbor, or to BE the noisy neighbor? Things are really quiet around here now, but we have five kids and when they were young it was a different story I'm sure. Oh yeah, they were all teenagers at the same time! I really like Sinbad's idea!
ReplyDeleteI believe there is no perfect place to live. When we lived in Arizona, our house was within a homeowner's association (our first experience with that). The neighborhood still had issues with noise, unusable junk cars parked in the driveway, and even an abandoned washing machine on the side of one particular house. Ironically, the same person still lives there but has discarded 2 husbands in 15 years and the place is now cleaned up.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, I think you live in a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteLiving in the city, I have to laugh at your intense dislike of seeing a neighbours' sign!!
ReplyDeleteI have neighbours' buildings 1 inch away on one side and 13 feet on the other so we have to deal with each other. So far no great problems but people could be friendlier.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, you have some space between you and your neighbors.
ReplyDeleteThat bumper sticker is a hoot!
Gosh -- I'm sorry about your neighbors -- a bummer -- and also sorry about all the icky weather you've been having... I assume Buddy is out of the path of the storm, more or less....that's a perfect and funny sign for him!
