Swisher Homeplace, Fields, and Barns
Fairfield, Virginia
I have taught with Donna for years. This is where her husband grew up, and it is within walking distance of the school. Her house is just up the road a bit further.
This post is linked with Tricia’s Barn Charm.
love a family farm...
ReplyDeleteIt looks a little bit like our foothills in the wet and early spring. Gentle hills, narrow roads, wide open sky. The one big difference for us thought is the foothills go higher and higher and soon you are in the Sierra Neveda mountain range.
ReplyDeleteLooks like quite a place! I love the rolling hills...really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to know someone who still lives on their family farm! Good for them -- and its a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteLovely country scenes!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots, Genie! The landscape is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of shots! I like the way you framed them.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is amazing- I could live there! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThese shots are all so beautiful! I love the quaintness. :)
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is postcard perfect and shows your part of the world beautifully!
ReplyDeleteLove the red fencing!
We were through your area a couple of weeks ago and then back last week. It poured the rain when we went and on our return. I didn't stop anywhere for pictures. :(
This is such a pretty part of our fair state! I don't know if I have been through Fairfield...this is a beautiful farm! Love that view~

ReplyDeleteThat 1st shot really captures that scene... a country life! Awesome shot!!! =)
ReplyDeleteThe other views are great, but I'm enamored at that 1st one! WoW!!!
Thanks so much for joining
This scenery is unusual for us. We have mountains everyplace. What a beautiful post. Love the clouds too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week.
Yes, in addition to all these beautiful barns photos have in common some delicious sky.
ReplyDeletestunning Genie - just stunning - what a view, what a beautiful farm. Great captures and takes me back to our farm days. Thanks so much
ReplyDeleteBeautiful country scenes Genie. hanks for visiting. I'm glad you were finally able to bring up the photos.
ReplyDeleteI am following you now.
Perfect farm country and so well maintained. The "home place" one of the best country combos--white frame with green tin (?) roof? And those rolling fields accented with red. Makes me want to practice my scrabble words--like bucolic!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series of shots - and I'm sure the family would love to have that first one with that amazing sky!
