That’s My World Tuesday ~ 6-28-11

Mr. Stevens’ Home and Old Root Cellar
Yesterday I posted a picture of Mr. Steven’s barn where my old Land Rover still R.I.P.’s, and today I am sharing one of his home... one of the those very, very old homes in Rockbridge County. This is a wonderful structure that dates back to the Civil War era. My shot was taken from the right side close to the barns.

  2. Genie, Thanks for the nice comments--you are so sweet. My family bought me a Nikon D3100 for Mother's Day. It came with a 18-55mm lens and I also bought a 55-200mm lens for more distant shots. I am still on "auto" setting and know the camera can do much more. I just need to read the manuel and figure things out. I did have a little Sony Cybershot and I was amazed at how well some of the photo turned out with that camera. I think "luck" has a lot to do with my photography. It is such fun to always be on the lookout for a good shot--it makes you so much for aware of everything around you. Have a great week. Mickie :)

  9. Such an old house still stands majestically..., it's awesome! I like the color tone and chimneys of the house. Probably generations of residents had loved and taken good care of the house. To see the photo of the barn, the surrounding mountains are grandeur. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for your lovely comment to my post, too.

I am still trying to work out whether it was his son you were trying to teach how to drive, or your own :-)
