Daily Photo ~ Signs, Signs ~ 6-9-11

While on our way to NC for Memorial Day Weekend, we stopped for a bit of a stretch and a walk around one of the rest stops. When I was coming back to the car, there in front of me across the interstate was this HUGE guitar. I couldn’t believe my eyes....and you know the rest of the story. Out came the camera, and I began shooting. It was such a one-of-a-kind image, l attempted to turn one of the shots into a postcard for future use. All I can say is the thing took my breath away it was so big!

  2. I can see why you needed to take photos of that big 'ol guitar. How cool! Your photography is great. I loved looking at your various techniques. Very nice. Thanks for visiting me at Cottage and Creek too. I loved your red fire plug. Have a great rest of the week.

  12. Pity there was no budding Elvis around to pose in front of it, to emphasize its size :-)

  15. Oh yeah, this IS a HUGE guitar! I like your postcard version, too.

[After reading all the comments I realize the message of my sign is not so obvious. It's a poop and scoop reminder, with notice that there's a Euro 36 fine for failure to do so. :-D ]

  17. Genie! We've been on roadtrips half our lives (;>)) and I've NEVER seen anything that beautiful from a rest stop (even tho sometimes it seems like we stop at every one of 'em>)... I'm madly jealous. Lovely sign, great pictures. So glad you had your camera.

  18. What an amazing structure as well as photo. Love the processing you did to give it the vintage worn look. It turned out fabulous and reminds me of a postcard. So where is the building at? I would love to visit sometime as my husband is a bass player.
