Perfect in black and white!
Love tracks...Nice shot..;-D
this looks a bit Twilight Zone-ish to me!
where will that train line end.
Good shot and just perfect in b&w!
That looks like a photo in an old magazine like Saturday Evening Post.
Jefferson was right.Great photo, I'm ready to go railroading!
This is a great shot. When we went to VA several years ago for a mountain trip, I did get a lot of shots of the James River and a number of the bridges but we didn't stop along tracks for me to get good shots of them. I was pleased during the recent trip to WV that I got a lot of tracks and train shots.By the way, you mentioned that you used to live in the Asheville, NC area. I have a good friend in Black Mountain and growing up we spent time there since once of my father's first parishes before I was born was in Black Mountain and we'd go back and visit. My mother's from Boone, NC and the Boone/Blowing Rock area was a second home to me. So many of my mountain trips were to the northern NC mountains and valleys where I still have family but it's been fun to branch out and spend time in the VA and WV mountains and compare the differences. My mother died in 1990 but my grandmother lived to be 103 and didn't die until 2003. It's still weird to think of my grandmother not being in the same house in Boone where she lived since 1923. At the end of her life she was in a retirement home but held on to her Boone house for visits until she died. My I sure have babbled on.
I like train track shots and almost posted one myself today. Nice!
Very classic shot; love it :)
Great composition, terrific shot, it looks vintage.
All those lines are wonderful - the rails, the bridge, that construction at the side. Really good.
very good and interesting shot!
looks very ol skool :)
I like this pic! Very nice.
I'm a few days behind, I can't believe it's sunday evening already. This is a wonderful perspective and give an 'old time' feeling in B&W.
