Thus post is linked with Pippa’s “Friends Meet Friends Once a Week”.

Pippa asks us what we have been doing this week. Well, I have been trying to learn how to combine my pictures and stock images to create some digital artwork. Oh, my, it is hard. One day I spent about 10 hours struggling with layers, textures, and cutting out stock pictures like in this one and getting onto the layer where I needed them to be.  Then I have had to figure out how to move them to a location I like. I created a post card series “I Only Have Eyes for You” years ago, but now I am going to try to create a new one with digital images. The love of learning something new and perseverance are the name of the game.

  1. At first, when you sent me that night, I thougt, the title would be fly away!
fly away of the daily sorrows by doing something fine for the mind! Grandious, dear Genie!

this digital things cost a lot of time, but it spends a good lot of new and interesting friendships!

sweat of thousands of hours are, what I spent last year in front of the machine.but now it - no, all the time, I had good thought while I do it!

  2. Hi Genie,
I find your collage wonderful I think these digital gadgets you'll find as fascinating as I do.
    Nice weekend.

  3. This is a way cool image...I like what you did with it.

  4. Genie, this is one beautiful collage and I love the subtleness of the eyes. Beautiful work.

  5. I do agree with Mae West :) I can see the eye Genie, love the colours you've used here. It certainly is a lot easier to experiment and have fun with digital images, looking forward to seeing your results!

  6. I love to play around with digital photos, indeed it takes a lot of time, so it's a nice occupation for winter !

  7. All your hard work paid off Genie, this is impressive.

  8. Thank you for your comment to my post about Louise Nevelson!
Sorry, but I have completely lost the ability to speak or write in English, because I never did since 1971...

  9. Well done, this looks very cool!

  10. I think learning something new is very exciting, Genie! This is a super project for January!

  11. There's never a lack of things to learn in technology! Interesting collage. My biggest puzzle right now is trying to determine just how accessible my Picasa photos will be to others if I join Google+. I don't like the idea of others being able to go through all my photos, but then I don't know enough about it to know for sure that's what they mean. It annoys me that Google+ is always trying to get me to join up, but never tells me why I should want to. Sorry for rambling. Anyway, enjoy your projects. :-)

  12. That's pretty cool. I haven't worked much with layers, I should really work on improving my understanding. My first step will be to try 'focus stacking'.

  13. your creations are such fun and so diverse, wonderful11

  14. Very nice image! I admire your creativity.

  15. Your are very good in creating images, I like this one very much!

  16. This is a stunning collage and the background with the eyes is amazing. Thank you for your visit and kind words you left for me. Digital work is quite new to me, but seeing so many wonderful work like yours our in blogland is very inspiring.

  17. Oh very clever and what an unusual illustration and theme. The eye background is tremendous and I do like all your ladies and the differently coloured butterflies.

  18. You are a role model for learning new things! Wonderful creation.

  19. Dear Genie, I hope your health is good -
sorry, that I shut the friends meet friends - it went over my personal borders.
we stay friends not at all - isn´t it?! (see us from blog to blog....)
