Signs, Signs ~ 9-22-11

Kerrs Creek Dumpster Site Recycling Containers
I took these shots with the trusty iPhone on my way to work yesterday...another very foggy morning. I drop off the garbage each morning faithfully. The garbage containers are on other side of lot. Our area of the county is very recycling oriented, but sadly we are not provided with enough containers. The clean-up is leased out to a private company, and the drivers come at least 3 time a week to haul it all off. Still, that seems not be be enough. There is one main recycling center on the other side of the county, but most people do not want to drive all the way over there to leave their items.

and it can be changed by making better, wiser choices.”

  1. This is also a sad sign of our over-packaged and over-buying society.

  2. We sure are a wasteful lot... :-( But even without enough bins, this looks neat... nothing like the landfills, official and unofficial, we see here.

  3. Hi Genie - we have a similar "garbage" sight here where I live. THe only difference is that there are no bins nor containers. The unsegregated garbage are just dumped in a corner :(

  5. Wow! That really is rubbish overload! The recycling idea is good but the process needs a bit of fine tuning! The signs become a little ironic in these photos!

  11. Do you not have curbside pick up? That's dedication if you keep all the recycling around the house and then have to cart it off to another location.

  12. Recycling is a very nice think! I've been sorting my garbage for years and taking the bottles and paper to the containers and sometimes they are full too!
Would love something to be made about that!
    Thanks for sharing, Genie;o)

  13. Thank goodness we have in our own townhouse recycling containers for paper, bio waste, cardboard and mixed waste. That is not very beautiful sight.
    Have a nice weekend

  14. Recycling is a big success in your area and also in mine. When I was kid pop bottles were made of glass and they were always reused. Today the only bottled reused is the beer bottle. Your iPhone takes excellent pictures.
