A Watery Our World Tuesday ~ 9-20-11

This pond is less than a mile from the house and on the route I drive when I go to see my best friend. Buddy runs and bikes by it everyday, too. So many people have ponds like this our here in our little part of the country.

“When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing ~ just sitting and looking at the sea or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?”
~Ralph Marston

  3. Beautiful, placid pond teeming with algae. I bet you get so many lovely photo subjects here alone.
Ponds on my side of the globe look differently - they're usually filled with lotuses and waterlilies which are great to look at, but, there are also ponds that are full of garbage - absolutely not a pretty sight.

  4. The algae seems to be taking over. I hope mother nature and the local tax payers straighten out this situation.

  9. Lovely quote and the pond is very nice. Maybe some plants would help to keep the water clear of algae. Have a great week!

  10. Seems to be a bit of a problem with the water, otherwise it is a great place to meditate.

  11. I have so missed you. I thought I was a follower of this blog. I am finding if I click on the top of a blog and sign up to follow it doesn't work. If I go to the sidebar and sign up there it works.

  15. I love the second shot with that wide pier. that pond doesn't look so small either. I was recently visiting my friend's land where she has a pond and it too had algae on the surface like this one. it's a sign of late season, and all part of the beauty. nice captures Genie. happy day to you.

Thanks for your kind comment. Yes, I read about the man who was to be executed today. He committed his crime in the eighties, if he did it, for there was doubt about this crime. It is awful to kill a person and that's what the hangman has to do.
