While on our way to NC for Memorial Day Weekend, we stopped for a bit of a stretch and a walk around one of the rest stops. When I was coming back to the car, there in front of me across the interstate was this HUGE guitar. I couldn’t believe my eyes....and you know the rest of the story. Out came the camera, and I began shooting. It was such a one-of-a-kind image, l attempted to turn one of the shots into a postcard for future use. All I can say is the thing took my breath away it was so big!

ReplyDeleteI can see why you needed to take photos of that big 'ol guitar. How cool! Your photography is great. I loved looking at your various techniques. Very nice. Thanks for visiting me at Cottage and Creek too. I loved your red fire plug. Have a great rest of the week.

It is one of those one of a kind images. Serendipity.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing Genie, and I think it would make a wonderful postcard!
ReplyDeleteooh, that was a cool opportunity to present itself with this one. I think it's great how it happened that you spied this. great one Genie! I love how you've processed too - the second is my fave.
ReplyDeleteCan you actually go inside that grand guitar? That is pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteI really like the second pic.
That really would make a nice postcard. I collect postcards of "big things" as well as signs.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of a piece of art! (It's too awesome to be considered just a sign).
ReplyDeleteI love it! Go big or go home!
ReplyDeleteIt's very cool! I love it in sepia.
ReplyDeletewow, this is a fabulous find! i think you can actually go inside the guitar, or maybe someone lives there? amazing!
ReplyDeletePity there was no budding Elvis around to pose in front of it, to emphasize its size :-)
ReplyDeleteI love this guitar! :) Very nice shot! LG Tina
ReplyDeleteSo did you also visit the museum?
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is huge and like to see anything that is like this out from ordinary ^_^
ReplyDeleteSigns
Oh yeah, this IS a HUGE guitar! I like your postcard version, too.
ReplyDelete[After reading all the comments I realize the message of my sign is not so obvious. It's a poop and scoop reminder, with notice that there's a Euro 36 fine for failure to do so. :-D ]
That is really cool and a great picture.
ReplyDeleteGenie! We've been on roadtrips half our lives (;>)) and I've NEVER seen anything that beautiful from a rest stop (even tho sometimes it seems like we stop at every one of 'em>)... I'm madly jealous. Lovely sign, great pictures. So glad you had your camera.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing structure as well as photo. Love the processing you did to give it the vintage worn look. It turned out fabulous and reminds me of a postcard. So where is the building at? I would love to visit sometime as my husband is a bass player.
ReplyDeleteVery cool sign, I think it has a certain vintage look in the original photo, myself.
