ReplyDeleteGenie, I have to ask. where to you find these fantastic quotes? every one of them is a keeper. that looks to be a treacherous and tough climb up those rocks under a beautiful sky. do you know those people? happy SWF Genie. have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteneat!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteA great composition! Love the light and shadows too.
ReplyDeleteThat upward climb leads me right straight to the sky!
ReplyDeleteRED SKY IN MORNING
Red sky in morning,
Sailors take warning!
Who knows what might happen out on the sea?
Waves riding high,
Waves to the sky,
Waves crashing and dashing all over me!
Red sky at night,
Sailors delight!
Leeward or windward we sail with no fear;
Water is calm,
Healing like balm—
Ahoy, fellow sailors, landfall is near!

Wonderful shot.
ReplyDeleteI like the barren look of this place. Makes me wonder if there are a valley on the other side. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this image!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful capture.
Great rocks, great sky, only a trickle of water missing...
ReplyDeleteWant to know what's over the brow.
I love the contrast between the smooth blue sky and the rugged rocks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful spot. I love rocks. They are so interesting to me. I like to see them in all different places but especially enjoy rocky mountainous areas.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not the easiest ground to walk on but I love this spot and the photo is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot...I just need to see the view from the top!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long time since I have enjoyed the adventure walking in such an environment, that's the downside to living in London than back home in the North of Scotland...
What a great photo! I love the quote that you chose too :)
ReplyDeleteCracking composition!.... the sort of shot that sucks you in 'cause you want to see what's on the other side!..... thanks ofr sharing your view!.....:)
ReplyDeleteHere's another one for you, appropriate for the shadows in that steep, hilly climb:
ReplyDeleteSHADOWY DINNER
A shadow, a shadow, a shadow you say?
A shadow is coming to dinner today?
Oh, what shall we feed it, and what will it eat?
Just toss down a few rays of light at its feet,
And watch its dark mouth gobble up every ray,
But be sure, my friend, you don’t get in its way;
Keep out of the light so it won’t gobble you.
(If I were the hostess, that’s just what I’d do.)
A shadow is easy to feed, so they say,
So welcome your shadow to dinner today.

Shadows here and there
Thanks for your kind comment. Your photo is wonderful, makes me wish I did more than a quick drive through of your area years ago, bet it's a great place to explore.
ReplyDeletethis rocks look intimidating to a trying-hard hiker like me.:p but i love this photo.
ReplyDeleteThe view of the rocks in the sun is stark, almost unforgiving. Yet the color is almost of gold in that same sun. A feeling of warmth that is tempered by the shade of the trees. What a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shadow! Please come see my Shadow shots
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, very nice.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSoft Shadow of the Pink Pixie, come and see.
