February 7, 2016 ~ Sepia Saturday’s Pesky Sam the Squirrel


“Not much goes on in the mind of a squirrel.”
Huge portions of what is termed “the squirrel brain” are given over to one thought: food.

I do love watching them getting jump about, but I do not like them eating my bird food.When I rad the prompt “movement” I could not think of anything I had until I remembered my pesky little pal what drove me nuts this fall. So here you have Pesky Sam the Squirrel.

    I always throw extra feed out for the squirrels...some of them might be Mama Squirrel's grandchildren.

    That is a small squirrel. It can't eat too much given its size.

    So cute! We don't have squirrels in Australia so I was very amused and pleased to see them when we were in America!

    Cute but do they get into roofs or wall cavities of houses like possums do? They are protected here in Aus but can be a real nuisance.

    I've had my share of pesky squirrels. They once wintered over in my dad's VW camper bus and ate through the electrical wiring. Cost over $4000 to repair! Never caught the culprit either!

    I enjoy those bushy-tailed tree rats....but then I don't have a garden for them to dig up, or bird seed for them to eat. (I didn't used to love them this much when we had both of those things). Pretty pictures in speia.
