Gene is the master raker.
Eloise and Lucy sat on a picnic table looking at the river after E. fell on the rocks and cut her hand. There was blood everywhere. She is smiling in this shot with her hand wrapped,
but she was not smiling earlier. Those rocks are so slippery.
Pati, Gene, and Jack setting up the yellow tent. It is definitely camping weather.
eloise is sure growing up!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a productive and fun time for all!! I'm glad Eloise wasn't hurt badly!! I do love the Schnauzer, reminds me of my dear four-legged friend that I lost last spring!! Hope all of you have had a great weekend, Genie!!
ReplyDeleteSatisfying until the next day when there are just as many on the ground again?
ReplyDeleteI love the fallen leaves on the ground in autumn. If I had a garden patio or leave the leaves on the ground throughout the fall!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought we had a lot to rake! Poor E., I hate it when my grandee gets hurt.
ReplyDeleteI love fall. But sorry Eloise fell and hurt her hand. Hope it heals well. ((((HUGS))))....hope you didn't rake.
ReplyDeleteThe shadows speak of warmth elsewhere. Love them on the tent!
ReplyDeleteThat would make a huge pile for jumping in!
ReplyDeleteGreat shadow shots for the week.
Looks like a mix of work and fun happening there. And so many light and shadow patterns. Lovely.
ReplyDeletePoor little El, with an injured hand. Camping weather, - girl - we are preparing for winter....almost. Almost time to put my bike away, but we keep getting one more nice day and I get one more ride. I know the first snowfall will see my bike tucked in the corner of my neighbour's garage, cleaned n covered till spring. Happy leaf raking :) Nice to see a written post from you my dear - miss when u do not post :)
ReplyDeleteseems like a very fun day. :)
ReplyDeleteIt takes quite a motivator to interest kids in chores like this - perhaps some camping as a reward? Eloise does look very brave in her bandage even if she doesn't really like it. She is definitely not a complainer, just a great kid who will take it a bit easier on the rocks next time. Nice family, beautiful Virginia!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to go camping in your back yard after all the leaves have been cleaned up.
ReplyDeletelooks like it was a great weekend for camping and shadows, family and memories.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that leaf-raking could be a fun family affair!
ReplyDeleteShadowy Garden
Very nice photo series.
ReplyDeleteSuch a brave young lady is Eloise! What a lovely camping spot. Much rather be camping there than raking all those leaves, how wonderful that you had all that good help.
ReplyDeletethe leaves are just beginning to REALLY fall here and the raking will begin soon...groan!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame about the injury. Otherwise, it looks like a fun time!
