Fall with the Robinsons

A few weeks ago Gene and Pati brought Eloise and her friend Lucy to see us. It was beautiful weather, and everyone pitched in attacking the massive amount of leaves we have in our yard. We also went to Goshen Pass on the Maury River.
Gene is the master raker.

Eloise and Lucy sat on a picnic table looking at the river after E. fell on the rocks and cut her hand. There was blood everywhere. She is smiling in this shot with her hand wrapped,
but she was not smiling earlier.  Those rocks are so slippery.

Pati, Gene, and Jack setting up the yellow tent. It is definitely camping weather.

This post is linked with Shadow Shot Sunday, Mellow Yellow Monday, and Mosaic Monday.

  1. Looks like a productive and fun time for all!! I'm glad Eloise wasn't hurt badly!! I do love the Schnauzer, reminds me of my dear four-legged friend that I lost last spring!! Hope all of you have had a great weekend, Genie!!

  2. Satisfying until the next day when there are just as many on the ground again?

  3. I love the fallen leaves on the ground in autumn. If I had a garden patio or leave the leaves on the ground throughout the fall!

  9. Poor little El, with an injured hand. Camping weather, - girl - we are preparing for winter....almost. Almost time to put my bike away, but we keep getting one more nice day and I get one more ride. I know the first snowfall will see my bike tucked in the corner of my neighbour's garage, cleaned n covered till spring. Happy leaf raking :) Nice to see a written post from you my dear - miss when u do not post :)

  10. It takes quite a motivator to interest kids in chores like this - perhaps some camping as a reward? Eloise does look very brave in her bandage even if she doesn't really like it. She is definitely not a complainer, just a great kid who will take it a bit easier on the rocks next time. Nice family, beautiful Virginia!

  14. Such a brave young lady is Eloise! What a lovely camping spot. Much rather be camping there than raking all those leaves, how wonderful that you had all that good help.
