This little church was on the road just before we turned off to wind up the mountain to where Bud's race was starting. I stopped to take pictures of it after depositing him. It was raining, and there was a dog barking fiercely at me from not far enough down the road so these two shots were snapped faster than a jack rabbit hops! I was back in my car before you could say "Move It" I was so scared. ! I just couldn't believe I was seeing a church in a little old house and wondered if the preacher lived there, too. That would be living close to where you worked.

WOW this is quite a find!!
ReplyDeletewe have an town near here that has a ton of homes turned into churches. it's not country and cute like this is. it is residential and almost creepy, cultish as you drive thru the streets. :) one weird church name after another.
ReplyDeleteoh, Genie u r so sneaky. giggles. i wonder about the place 2?!! ( ;
ReplyDeleteAll that is needed is a steeple!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little house turned church and a lovely location.
ReplyDeleteAhah chased from a church by a dog! PS the cactus on my collected poems blog is in Peru not Scotland - as credited it appeared in Truxillo Daily Photo and inspired my poem - the photographer gave me permission to reprint her photo.

ReplyDeleteJust proves you can worship anywhere
ReplyDeleteThat's a first for me! Churches are turning up in some odd places these days.

ReplyDeleteGood eye spotting this one. I would not have guessed there was a church here. Thanks for braving the dog to take the photos to share this week.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you know I seek out these weird little things like that. Neat find Genie. Next time carry dog biscuits with you.

ReplyDeleteGreetings, RW & SK
It sure is an interesting place to see, and brings up many curious questions too..
ReplyDeleteGreat shots you snapped before the dog gets to you :-)
People don't seem to care much about where they pass time with the Lord. We have a legion that is now a church, a olde laundromat, which is not a church. l large olde school that is now a church. Many Churches cropping up in all sorts of buildings, but I guess the Lord doesn't mind, as long as you are paying attention, Eh :)
ReplyDeleteNeat Photos Genie.
What a darling combination~such a neat find. I am loving the beautiful forest too!
ReplyDeleteJemma
One thing, if you lived there, you wouldn't have to worry about the weather when going to work....I wonder though it it is still used. Or maybe it is just used for special occasions.
ReplyDeleteProbably a part of the country where you don't find many Presbyterians? :-) That would be the case for most parts of rural Kentucky. Appreciate their determination though.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Genie, for your visit and comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteIt is a Chapel? Very unusual.
I have on my blog a new photo challenge on religious buildings. You think even this chapel can be seen as religious bulding?
