  10. I wouldn't get too close to this snapping turtle. They earned their name honestly. Hope he got safely across the road and into an area better suited for an old turtle.

  13. That turtle as a face only a mother could love.
You don't have to make the owls. You can buy them and then do something with it.

  14. That is so cute!! ...but it's funny because I had a very similar shot I almost used this week! But it was of a Gopher tortoise, a very different looking turtle.

  17. Hi Genie!
Did he come up out of your creek just for a portrait session? :)

In answer to your question, yes, I am ready for fall. It's one of my favorite times of the year. The temps are in the mid 70's and I'm really enjoying it.

  22. I think I would give this one a wide berth- snappers are mean little buggers if you get too close! Nice capture!

  23. Great shots, but way too close to a snapper for me! (They can stretch those necks out a looong way to strike like a snake. I nearly got a toe bitten that way once. LOL)

  29. That is the strangest looking tortoise/turtley thing I have ever seen! Such a funny face!

Well, I'm glad the other commenters named him, because I had no idea what he was. I've heard of snapping turtles, but we don't have them in England. Our little tortoises are from Greece, I believe, and are totally harmless, unless you trip over them!
