My world has changed drastically this school year.  Rockbridge Middle School closed in June, and I temporarily found myself put out to pasture with the old and weary. BUT....I refused to give in after 54 years in the classroom. I went back to the powers that be and asked if there was anything available I might be qualified to do. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. I am now teaching gifted and talented students K-5 one day a week at this precious little country school. Then I am teaching digital photography combined with creative writing to 4th and 5th graders in an afternoon program at Natural Bridge Elementary School on Tuesday and Thursdays - two 55 minute classes. On Mondays and Wednesdays I will be tutoring second graders and helping out my dear friend in the library...she was our librarian at the middle school all the time I was there.  The director of the after school program has bought me all new Canon point and shoots to use with my students. What a treat! I am once again a happy camper.

My MacBook Pro finally died after all the episodes I suffered through these past years. This time it could not be fixed. It took me months to finally break down and put out the money for a new one. I now have another MacBook Pro, but this one is 8G and has the faster processor. I decided I'd better hurry up and get it while I was still eligible for the educational discount. So, I'm back up and running but terribly rusty. It's going to take me a while to get back up to speed, but it's good to be back amongst my picture taking friends. Can't wait to start looking at all of your beautiful captures. Hope each and every one of you had a wonderful summer.
