SOOC
My final contribution this week is a bit out of the ordinary. My “cellblock” is next to the boy’s restroom so each afternoon we go in to check for typical middle student foul writings on the stalls. I have to check the carrels in my room, too. Well, I just couldn’t resist the urge to take a shot of the urinals. The place was very clean. Actually, I think they turned out pretty cool all lined up along the wall. It was a good afternoon. I got a good picture, the stalls, and all the urinals were clean. No creative writing.
the last shot made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteyes, that's a concrete mixer. i like the cog wheels, though!
I like mechanical stuff too and it usually works well in black and white. Your bathroom shot is great! A peek into the hidden world. :)
ReplyDeleteAre the boys who use the room in the last shot "Pisscopalians"?
ReplyDeleteThe inquiring mind of «Louis la Vache» wants to know...
Oh Genie I love ALL these images, but the last one CRACKED me up! HAHA!! xo
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo with beautiful light and great tones in B & W. Very good. Greetings.
ReplyDeleteI too smiled at the last shot. I was in the loo of the cities art gallery a while back and took a similar photo but have yet to use it, worried a tad about the taste thing.
ReplyDeleteLove those gear wheels! Old machinery and parts make great photography subjects. I have to say I've never seen a shot of urinals, though! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes, the photo is an old concrete mixer, from the Olde Days, and still very much used these days. Ya just cannot seem to break olde machinery - it ran forever.
ReplyDeleteThose wicker chairs would look nice under your tree by your brook. I found an olde one last year and painted it, put it under a tree in back yard and right now it has a potted plant sitting on it. Love these ole machinery photos Genie - a girl after me own heart. Have a great weekend.
Love the symetry in these, and definitely to toilets made me laugh.... only a photographer....
ReplyDeleteStill chuckling about that last photo! A rare photo opportunity! And adore the metal shape in the first and second photos! Huge!
ReplyDeleteFor a boy restroom, that's very clean one. I'm amaze :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your mechanical stuff shots too.
Perfect b&w post. I like your composition and the light is so good!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine a teenage boy telling, Pssst, I saw Miss Genie in the boys bathroom.
ReplyDeleteIn my school, we have unisex bathrooms. In one with just ne stall, a male tescher was washing his hands, and he told me to come in. I wasn't going to, because I was with some young kids. Imagine them saying, Ann was in the toilet with mr. so & so,
I can confirm the concreate mixer. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those old wheels. .)
Great shots, and the restroom is a great composition! Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove your shots! Really like the first and second.
ReplyDeleteI also laughed at the last shot. Good sequence. I also love the shot in the next post.
ReplyDeleteAn El dorado even for me here, I love such things. Collect and re - use, mostly for completely other purposes than what they were meant for. I notice the fine electric motor or/and generator in the first picture, a good and useful item :) Best wishes for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the bottom shot. If you get the chance to go back to the cog wheels, try the second shot but with wide aperture and narrow depth of field, I think the wheels would like even better then against a slightly less focused background. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Sunday morning giggle via the boys room. Oh, and thanks for the comment about the "stuff" in the photo. I'll look forward to future posts about the welder.
ReplyDeleteWonderful B&W captures, Genie.
