This old, old home has been completely restored, and it is absolutely gorgeous. It looks to me to be Civil War vintage. I pass it each morning on my way to school so have been following the restoration on a daily basis.
This is a brand new barn, and it is one of the nicest I have ever seen. Love the star at the top.
Close up of the upper section.
Another shot of the front. Be sure to note the stone wall to the right rear.
Processing #1 of another shot.
Processing #2 of same shot.
Just for fun...this was the barn until I plugged the picture into one of my iPad apps called “My Patterns.” It’s lots of fun to play with when I have lots of time to spare because once I start cannot put it down! The patterns you can create are endless.

The home and barn both look delightful and in keeping with each other, despite the age difference.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great old house, and a wonderful barn! It's rare to see a new barn that is such a charmer!

ReplyDeleteHi Genie,
ReplyDeleteYour photos of these buildings are lovely-I like the way the views are through trees, and the treatments you have used on some of your pictures too.
Thanks for your visit and lovely comment!
Visiting from "The Creative Exchange". How fun to be able to follow this project for you! I really like the creativity of your "framing" in the first photo! The owners of the home would probably love that!

such a lovely barn. I have seen some barns in illinois that are better than the houses. Gotta care for those critters! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Jeanne
ReplyDeleteThese are a great selection of pictures, I love the star on that barn.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over and leaving a comment, it's appreciated. :)
What a beautifully restored home! It must have been fun to watch the progress. Your photos are nicely processed to enhance the colors and textures. The last one looks like a neat quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful property!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the barn. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteOh, very, very nice. And I like the pattern you created...it would make a nice quilt design.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with these photos. especially that first one with that gold frame. how do you do that? happy day to you Genie.
ReplyDeleteWow Genie!
ReplyDeleteI think the owners of that house should have your first photo hanging on their wall. :)
I love that stone wall in front of the house.
While the barn may be new I really like the vintage look of it. The cool pattern at the top of the barn - ventilation maybe - and the centered star is a lovely decorative addition.
LOVE that dreamy shot of the little log house!
Wonderful shots. I like very much processing 2 shot. Lovely feelings :)
ReplyDeleteThanks to you visit mys blog!
Great selection of photos.
ReplyDeleteLove the old restored home and the barn.
Wonderful series, all fall through the atmosphere inpregnada, delicious colors, I love those pictures, my favorite is the spring house. Nice last composition.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty barn...love your processing!
ReplyDeleteWow great shots...and love love the edits!
ReplyDeleteYou're telling me that someone just built that barn? Made of wood? Just recently? I'm shocked! Most people that build new barns these days use metal... That's incredible! You have to find the owner & give them a hug for me for this! WoW! It's a gorgeous barn, of course, but I'm so amazed that it's built of wood & the stone wall is such a beautiful added bonus!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining in & linking up! =)
Great photos. Love the star on the barn. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Genie,

Love the star too! I like how the new barn was built to match the restored house.
