First Snow of 2011

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

For the first time in my memory we had our first snow on October 28th...unbelievable. It wasn’t much of one, but it left all of my few flowers, greenery, and water lilies weighted down with icy snow.  Just take a look!

My Yellows and Golden Yellows

My Reds

My Greens

A Lone Icy Red

A Bit of Blurry Pink

The Remains of my Herbs

My Wilted Water Lily and Goldfish Kettle Pond

"Delicious autumn!  My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.”

  2. Global warming?!
    WHAT global warming?!

Fine images, despite the damage the snow did to the garden...

  3. Hi Genie. I tried to leave you comment about the mouse over but the comment form is limited on what html code is acceptable. Look here http://www.webretina.com/how-to-add-text-on-mouseover/ or do a Google search. Create a test blog to try this stuff out. Just make sure it does not show in your profile.

  6. Great images, I really liked the reds. Keep your snow to yourself, we don't need it in Tulsa.

  7. Snow already? While it certainly makes for great photos, I'd imagine you wouldn't be all that pleased with snow this early! Great shots though.

  21. Beautiful captures Genie. Sadly (I'm a tad prejudiced !) we don't see snow in South Australia, except on very exceptional occasions - like once in 5 or 10 years. (but I did see it in the UK when I lived there for 2 years).
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog.

  24. O dear! Winter has arrived in Virginia BEFORE Central Ontario! What a strange, strange world. But at least you were quick enough to take some photos of it. lol!

  25. I'm amazed it didn't snow in Canada. But very happy it didn't! Sorry that your plants had an early demise. But it gives you more reason to look forward to spring. And you got some lovely shots form it!

  28. It really does feel strange to get snow so early, doesn't it. So glad we haven't seen any yet.

  29. Brrr...so sorry that you had the 4-letter word stuff so soon. Your photo's were great though.

  30. The storm was supposed to drop 4 to 6 inches but it was too far south for that. Only got a half inch or so. Sorry about the flowers; perhaps they'll perk up when the snow melts! Gorgeous photos.

  31. some one must have left open a whole lot of weather goblins to create havoc.

    ReplyDelete
  32. RIGHT ! This is not global warming - This is those darn Weather Goblins like Ann said. They run amuck your yard and garden, spreading their tiny white dust (humans call it snow) everywhere. It seems to have spread wide n far this year even the east coast of Canada and the Cape Breton Highlands. Lovely photos as usual and most interesting garden photos.
