Fun and Games at Sandbridge ~ VA Beach, VA.
I am still in shock that I was able to get a shadow and a reflection, both, in the first picture. I had no clue until I saw it on the computer screen.

She looks like she is having a lot of fun! Great captures that will bring joy in the years to come.
ReplyDeleteShe's such a pretty girl! Great beach shots, and I love them in black and white.
ReplyDeleteI love it when I find a surprise in a photo. Such a sweet girl and great shots!

ReplyDeleteA great series, I like the way the wet sands reflect the subject.

ReplyDeleteBITS OF SHADOW
Bits of shadow and blasts of light,
Morning and evening, noon and night;
Days of darkness, gloomy and drear;
Sometimes bright ones, bringing good cheer;
Spring or winter, summer or fall,
Light or shadow—embrace them all!

very nice portraits - great in B/W
ReplyDeleteFun shots. Love the first.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one and I think the first would improve with a tighter crop. The entire series is lovely.
ReplyDeleteTerrific group of shadow shots for the day and how fun!! I'm sure you had as much fun as Eloise did! And what a lovely granddaughter she is! Enjoy what's left of your weekend, Genie!

Hi Genie, Thanks for the dancing shadows comment. I think #2 is OK the way it is. I was suggesting you crop #1 from the top, maybe down to just above the breaking wave. And the contrast in the last shot needs tweaking. The whites need snap. The last could be the best of the lot with a bit of work.
ReplyDeletePS -- You are welcome to email me anytime you have questions and you think I might (might...LOL) have the answers.
No matter what color they are, children and shadows make a nice combination.
ReplyDeleteFun shots! I like the first one a lot, thanks for mentioning it so I would take another look!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with these shots. Now I'm missing having a little girl at the beach. Not that I don't still go to the beach sometimes with my daughter when we can both get away but mine is 26. I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. I hope you will heal swiftly.
ReplyDeleteShe is an innocent and beautiful subject! Little ones can make such a great game of running away from the incoming wave then charging at great speed into the receding water. The ocean beach is such a great place to capture the energy of youth - and shadows too!
ReplyDeleteNice shots. She is very cute.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so lovely! A great serie!
ReplyDeleteWonderful BW and reflection shots. Great captured! - I have no iphone, but samsung. And I´m using Picasa to edit my photos. :) Have a great sunday! xo Tina
ReplyDeleteGenie, this is a terrific set of b+ws of your adorable Eloise. I am appreciating John's helpful comments; lessons for both of us.
ReplyDelete[PS. I live in Manila and have been back home from Bucharest since July 1. However, when I link to a meme, I use the place the photos were taken, meaning they often come out of my archives.]
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely, I like that they're in black and white. Well done!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she's having a blast, I'd like to be at he beach enjoying the late summer, but instead, I'm painting the family room :-(
ReplyDeletePrecious moments!
ReplyDeletePlease come and see my shadows at Nostalgic Marveling, have a blessed Sunday!
Adorable set of images.She is a doll and looks so happy!
ReplyDeleteWonderful reflections, you are very talented with your camera!

I LOVE this Eloise series. it's perfection. I love any photo of her - she's very photogenic - but as her grandmother you manage to capture her in unique perspectives. happy day to you Genie.
ReplyDeleteI just love how you emphasized the bathing suit.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots!
ReplyDeleteShe's so adorable :)
