Our Wonderful Creek ~ Kerrs Creek
This is one of six little waterfalls my son built for us over the 4th of July weekend. I am waiting for just the right light to capture all six at one time. He worked for two days shoveling silt, pebbles, and heaving huge rocks and boulders. He does this every year, and then the rains come and wash it all away until the next year. It is just wonderful sitting out there and hearing the water running over the rocks.“Like dreams, small creeks grow into mighty rivers.” ~ Author Unknown

I love your perspective on this pic and the story behind it.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid in Utah, me and the neighbors would build multiple dams and waterfalls in the irrigation ditch in front of our house.
a shame that it is only temporary, but surely a labor of love.
ReplyDeleteThese waters are close to your home? Then you are blessed indeed!
ReplyDeleteFEELING RATHER DUCKY
Feeling rather ducky?
Here’s what I would do:
Find a pond or puddle,
One that’s right for you;
Take a sturdy life vest,
Strap it on your back;
Jump into the puddle,
Give a little quack!

How nice of your son to do that, but I bet he enjoyed working on it. There is nothing as peaceful or soothing as the sound of water running over the rocks in a stream or creek. Nice place to relax for the afternoon. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sun to rebuild the falls for you every year!
ReplyDeleteAwww, how sweeet! Great perspective & can't wait to see all six in one shot! WoW! =)
ReplyDeleteRunning water is so soothing! This looks like a delightful garden feature!

your very own creek? My parents has one when I was a baby. Rang though the rubber garden, and they widen it so it was like a pond of water.
ReplyDeletethis is a great shot. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way the water looks rushing over the rocks.
