Daily Photo ~ 6-29-11

The Old Wolmerdorf Body Shop
Route 60 West, Rockbridge County, Virginia
This old shop is about 4 miles from our house. Like so many, it is no longer in business but rather just has old cars parked around it. Double click on the awning and you will see it is an old Chevrolet fender...pretty clever.

  1. That is the coolest awning I have ever seen!!

  2. Very imaginative. Check under the hood every once in awhile though.

  3. lol, what a great idéa to use the engine cover as sunblocker. Thanks for sharing it, gave me a big smile. :)

And, I have patted my back. :)

  4. heheh, may be the awning came from a car.

That shrimp was in a tank in an air port. My friend took the photo, I borrowed it off him.

  5. What a great idea someone had for that shop roof. That is perfect for a car place and red day.

  6. LOVE the fender/awning on that building! Such a shame it's no longer in use. Hopefully the right person will come along and breathe new life back into it!
    Happy REDnesday,

  7. Love it! What a clever idea! Great shot.

  8. Well that brought back A LOT of memories. Bill had a 55 red chevrolet when I first knew him....

  9. I love the creative thinking it took to go from car fender to awning. Not only is this imaginative, it keeps the rain off when standing by the entrance. I’m surprised such a shop is closed because it would certainly capture my attention and pull me inside.

  10. i MUST show this picture to my hubby ... he will love it! his dad owned a chevy dealership so he grew up working in it ... and he's been a GM parts manager for almost 30 yrs ... and of course he's a CHEVY man! thanks for sharing this, i know it will put a smile on his face after a long, hard day of work!

  11. Great find. What a crazy idea! :-)

  12. This is cool! Thanks for sharing!
