C.R.Goodman, General Merchandise

I am never prepared for a sight like this. Here I was driving on a back dirt road looking for bloodroot to photograph when suddenly I came upon this house up on a little hill. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and immediately thought...."signs. signs...Genie, get out of this car with your camera and take a photo!" I tell you, some of the  country folk in these parts are pretty interesting in what they put in their yards and on their houses. I am wondering what sort of “merchandise” he is selling.

  1. I love to go to old businesses. We have a restored vintage pharmacy on Main St here that I could spend hours at. Great photo.

  2. Cool sign, Genie. I'm glad you stopped even though you were not prepared.

I can hardly wait till I can start looking for wildflowers! Spring seems to be slow in coming here.

  6. It looks a picture that could be taken now or a hundred years ago. I'd like to go up the steps and through the door.

  9. Was it open? General stores used to be common in the western states -- country stores, a few grocerys and odd bits.
