Old Barn on a Rainy Day
“Let the rain kiss you.
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops.
Let the rain sing you a lullaby."
~Langston Hughes
This is a working farm with other outbuildings, and it is in our neck of the woods. It could use a couple of coats of paint on the roof and sides, but the old rustic wood still looks wonderful to me. The white spots are rain droplets as it was a dark, rainy day.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful setting!
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful shot.
ReplyDeleteI like your header photo better - warm and sun-shiny.
ReplyDeleteThose old barns show some great texture. That farm is still working? Doesn't look active.

So nice. I love the necks of the world living in one myself. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful barn. The roof looks in good shape. I also prefer the patina of aged wood on the siding.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO beautiful. I do like the color one better, but it's fun to see the B&W too. I'm kinda glad that God didn't give us a B&W world to live in. LOL Hope you have a wonderful Christmas! xo
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful photograph.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous pic, Genie!
ReplyDeleteI like the weathered look too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Genie for sharing this Virginia barn this week. Yesterday I drove in search of snow and took lots of barn photos in a snow storm...they look spatter painted. Merry Christmas and please return again soon.
ReplyDeleteNice barn. I like the black and white for it's mood here.
