Scenes along the Way
OOPS...I just noticed I put one of the barns in two times. Sorry about that :-(
Peaks of Otter Lodge
When you look across Abbott Lake in the first picture,
you would see the lodge back off to the left. It sits on that long stretch of land.
Sharp Top Mountain, Abbott Lake, fences, a row boat, clouds,
shadows, and reflections.
shadows, and reflections.
Foot bridges, the tunnel over to the Johnson Farm, lots of shadows,
and a bit of Buddy in the distance.
Milkweed
The tree shots were taken while I was resting on the bench. I was pretending I was Georgia O’Keefe lying on the ground drawing the trees above me...but this time I was taking pictures with my old pink Canon point and shoot of the bare trees stretching their arms towards the sky.
You do have some incredible skies and fantastic capture for the day, Genie, not to mention Reflections and Shadow Shots, etc, etc!! Awesome!! Thanks for sharing the beauty! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots of this lovely place!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of fantastic scenery! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHi from Scotland! Love your photographs.

Lovely photos from your visit to the Peaks of Otter. The top mosaic looks beautiful with a gorgeous sky. Thanks for sharing, have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour Genie. You have been busy with you camera. Keep on clicking.
ReplyDeleteLooks as if you had a lovely weekend, and that the leaves are gone from the trees. Looks kind of bare without them. What a fun place to go for a weekend, and your Georgia O keefe demonstration very good. We took my grandson to visit her house last fall... one in New Mexico. She was quite a character
ReplyDeleteYour post on Abbott Lake is perfect. You have touched every corner of what they have to offer you while visiting. This is indeed a most beautiful area. I can see why you chose this and continue to do so. Excellent photos Genie :)
ReplyDeleteOH! Looks like my kinda place, Genie! And the sky was so blue too! Yes, that's milkweed. Isn't it photogenic?

ReplyDeletePlease consider yourself officially invited to participate this year's 5th Annual Gratitude (word) Quilt. Instructions (it is very simple) and a link that explains the origin of the word quilt can be found at the top of my blog. In past years there have been participants from every continent except Antarctica. If I’ve already invited you, I apologize... I am trying to reach as many people as possible, and sometimes forget whom I’ve already left this message for in a comment. My intention is most certainly NOT to spam you. I hope you'll join us, it is really amazing when all the words unfurl on November 27th, Thanksgiving Day in the United States.

So many beautiful views looking great in collage. And the two shots of the barn just beautifully balance the other images. Especially love the detail of all those shadow lines on the footbridges.

ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! We were there in 2008. Do the deer still come up to the lodge and beg for handouts?

ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank you for the sweet comment on my "Just Treats" post. We got the mirrored mask at Target for $5. It was at the beginning of the season and I know they sold quickly...probably because they were $5. :) My son could see out it really well, until it was very dark out.
Beautiful photos! I need to keep this area in mind next time I am in VA!
