  1. Hi there - glad to see the post has come back from the void! Woodpeckers are too good to let go!

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

  2. How adorable, Genie! Thanks for your comment on the Queen's abdication. It is not as sad as you think, for the Queen is 75 and clearly sometimes very tired. She wants to enjoy her life as grandma. She became queen when her mother abdicated in 1980, and she was 42 years old. Her son is now 45 and ready for the throne. Besides our royalty always abdicate in favour of their eldest child. The new monarch will have a beautiful and wise wife beside him, who is very popular and loved by the Dutch people.
    Have a great day, Genie!

  5. Really nice photos and I just adore the last photo of that little fella hanging underneath the birdhouse. That is just too cute.
Also, enjoyed the info on Queen Beatrix from your Reader Wil. She is a lovely lady more than deserving her retirement. God bless her.

  7. Lovely shots Genie. I'm just wondering if the pecker knows there's a nest hole there somewhere or if it can sense food.

  14. Don't you just love these little acrobats? I have quite a few, and enjoy watching them so much. Yes, now onto A-Rod. I say Commit the crime-do the time. I can't believe as smart as he is, or is he, he has big time blown any chances of the Baseball Hall of Fame, but money talks you know. He has it all or thinks he does. I'm just disguisted! He won't be able to play anyway till after the Allstar break, so I hope the Yanks give him the Heave-Ho! It's just that big $ contract lurking in the background.. I haven't read the write-up on the Yankee home page yet, but will get to it tonight.
Have a great rest of the week. We're headed back into winter again..

  15. She's a cutie!
My heart always skips a little when I see any woodpecker at the feeders. I have a female downey that comes but only rarely see her mate.

We were lucky to miss the ice storm thank goodness. We are expecting a little snow the next few days. Temps were freezing last weekend and then almost 70 yesterday and back down tonight with snow. Sheesh.....
