Out of Commission for a Bit

Dear Friends...
I am out of commission for a bit. Buddy is about to hike for 2 weeks here in Virginia, my 20 year old grandchild is here until Tuesday when he reports as a main counselor at Camp Maxwelton, and the younger one, Henry, comes on Friday for the start of the 4 week camp. Willy, the middle one, is in Colorado working at the Stanley Hotel for the summer, but his RA has flared up and may have to return. We are all so worried about him. Hoping it is just jet lag at  the moment and he will perk up.The other grandmother is ill with blood clots in her leg and is in a rest home for a week or so after surgery. Life is helter skelter for me right now. Sorry I have not been commenting as usual, but there really is not time for me to get to my computer. All I can say is thank you so much for being my friends, following my blog, and helping me so much with my photography. I feel so fortunate to have all of you along side me on this challenging  journey.Take care, post those pictures, and I will keep looking at them each night before I go to bed. I am thinking of all of you and hope you are having a nice summer.

  1. Oh Genie, you have your plate full. So good that you can help out. Where does Buddy get all his energy. Hope you grandson is doing better.
Is the Stanley Hotel, the haunted one?

  3. oh my, that is a lot of helter skelter. a blogging friend just yesterday posted about the WWII poster "Keep Calm and Carry On". It made my day, watching the video of the origins/history of the phrase. My recommendation to you Genie is - just "keep calm and carry on"!
See you when the waters become a bit calmer. take good care now.

  6. I would say you are running on MAX energy level Genie and you certainly have a plateful. I do hope Buddy has a wonderful time hiking for 2 weeks and do hope all goes well for your family. Hope that Henry has a great time at Camp Maxwelton. I remember Willy, for he just graduated and hope his RA calms down and he has a great summer. Home your other grandmom is resting easy after her surgery and those blod clots diminish without too much problem.
The challenges are always there, some have more than others, we do not know why, but it will all work out eventually - usually does for those that just "Carry ON" - Thinking about you Genie and wishing you a good night. lol

  9. Gee, maybe you ought to go on the hike with Buddy and get away from it all. Hang in there girl.

  10. Yes you have your hands and life filled now. Life Happens.

I have weeks so filled for a 75 yr old I don't know how I make it with my health, but I thank God, I make it albeit more like a turtle than a hare, because many others cannot.

Hope all works out and the RA subsides enough for your grandson to enjoy..
