Just a Bit Too Much Water

It rained all day yesterday and all night last night. Roads and bridges were washed out here in the county. This is what I saw as I walked out to get into my car to go to school...roaring, rushing water. School was an hour late due to so much flooding, and we were dismissed an hour early because the system needed to get all the children home before the next installment arrived. There are flash flood warnings until tomorrow morning. Flooding waters have never reached the house in the 112 years it has been here, but conditions like this are slowly eroding more and more of our yard.

  1. I heard that you were getting tons of rain. Flooding is scary. I am sure you are pre-pared.
I'd love the Heidi book and the picture. Any size 5 by 7 or smaller. I will send you a Golden book and some surprises.
    Be careful out there.

  5. Your photos are quite pretty but I know very well that rushing water isn't always a welcome sight. Hope you manage to stay safe and dry.

  10. now that's a weather event. I love rain, but when it becomes too much and begins to cause damage and worry, that's not at all good. sounds like the storms have camped out over head and they're not moving. I hope your apple tree hangs on. Be careful Genie. happy day to you, and I hope the rain goes away today.

  11. Mother Nature sure can pound a bunch of stuff at us. The weather all over the world is changing at such a fast pace. We had 170 ml of rain here a couple of years ago in December and it wasn't pretty - temps went down to -15 right after and then we had the snowstorm of the century right after the flood. I know you are prepared Genie, you are always ready for emergencies n such - great photos of rushing waters.
