Looking up at the homeplace from the barn...
Back side of barn...you can see the house from here...
Old basketball hoop on the side of Mr. Rexrode’s barn is a reminder of the children growing up in the country...
Frontside of barn which is really messy...this is where the children “tried" to play basketball...

LOVE that barn! but love the cool fencing too!
ReplyDeleteLovely series of photos. What a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteNice black & whites. I really like the top one. I ought to particpate in Weekend in Black and White myself. Oy, another theme thingy to get involved with!
ReplyDeleteReally like the second shot
ReplyDeleteI love the shades of grey and depth to that first shot, Genie. Nice feel to it.

ReplyDeleteI am drawn to the photo with the hay stacks. Something about it I love, I just can't put my finger on it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind and encouraging comments on my blog. I appreciate it.
My favorite is the first one I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love the fencing in the first one, the contrasting shapes in the second, the texture in the third and the light in the last one. Great series!
ReplyDeleteI think the basketball rim is an outstanding composition with wonderful textures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking place. The house with the fencing makes my heart pitter patter.
ReplyDeleteYour black and white treatment gives it all a lovely vintage look!

ReplyDeleteI love it--especially seeing the barn filled with all that hay!
ReplyDeleteI like the one of the backside of the barn with the messy rolls of hay = all looked so neat and orderly until then!
ReplyDeleteI love that backside of the barn shot!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great barn!!! I love the old basketball hoop on it too.

ReplyDeleteBarn
Nice shots! The fencing is really interesting and I like that the barn had the hoop for the kids to play b-ball.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of the barn...Great..;-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely story told in pictures! Makes me curious about the stories that old barn could tell. Thanks for the bit of info on it, and I love the B&W! I haven't done much of that...must try it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful farmstead. Looks like it is well kept! Like the B&W edits!
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful genie...what's the story with the homeplace?
ReplyDeleteI think b&w makes for some dramatic & very interesting images... my mom doesn't like b&w photos, she says it takes everything, meaning the color, out & makes them blah... but I just don't agree! Fantastic b&w's, esp the 2nd shot, I love that tree in the background & the barn itself & hay bales... the whole shot! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining this week's Barn Charm =)
Love the back of it with all the hay rolls. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great black and white shot of the old basketball hoop. Great textures!
