No more do I think about what our old farmhouse looks like after living on the property for 33 years, but today I actually stopped at the head of the driveway to study my surroundings as if I was seeing then for the first time. When I looked at the picture on the screen tonight, I was really pleasantly surprised. For being 110 years old, it looks pretty good, and my "half evergreen" does not look so badly after all. The power company cut out all the branches on the side where the lines run to the house. So, welcome to our
Home Sweet Home.

very nice! although i feel bad about your half pine, the glow of light you captured wrapping around the house would not have been visible if it had not been pared back. :)
ReplyDeleteWith the trees fully leafed out I imagine your home isn't visible very much. I can see now why you are at odds with the power company! We lived in our previous home for 34 years and finally had to move away almost 3 years now for the neighborhood deteriorated so bad. But we're not bitter for we love our new home and surroundings so very much. It looks like you will be spared that fate of your neighborhood ever looking like something out of a third world country.
ReplyDeleteCozy, warm and inviting. I love the curved driveway. The colours in the sky are so beautiful. Very well done Genie - I love this photo.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful, you really live in full nature. What a shame what they did to your half tree.
ReplyDeleteI really like your cottage. No doubt to live in it forever.

ReplyDeleteA beautiful scene. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty settings. Those power companies. It will soon surround the tree and you won't notice. I am back home and have a working computer. What has happened with the appointment?
ReplyDeleteGenie,
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful and the way you've captured it even more so. I actually find your half evergreen more charming than whole ones-for yours is special and unique-after all, how many people do you know who have half evergreens on their properties? :)
This is simply lovely. Happy to meet you!
Angie :)
