I do not personally like cell towers, but without this one we would not have any cell phone coverage at all where we are out in the boondocks. It is up on the mountain but in an area where we go hiking at least once a month. The one positive thing it has going for it when it comes to photography is the linear qualities. It has a bit of everything from the straight to the curved, and there are LOTS of signs warning your not to get close because of the radiation. You can’t get too terribly close up and personal because of one impressive fence.

Thank you for risking your health to radiation poisoning in order to get these great shots. Now stay away!
ReplyDeletegranted, i'd probably not want one in my backyard, but i certainly wish we had more in this area! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots of tower reaching the sky.
ReplyDeleteWe are exposed with a lot of radiation now a days. I like cell towers to be in our property, as I have heard they will rent the space (land) and pays it in five figures of $$$ ^_^ What do you think hehe. Happy weekend!

They should have it crank up and down depending on whether you want to make a call.
ReplyDeleteI love the pics, especially the old timey look of the second.
That's a fence that means business! Keep OUT! (I just found this fence meme and I think it's a marvelous topic! My fence.)
ReplyDeleteI thought you were close enough to get some good views. The frames and old touches made it look like the photos had to endure some serious radiation and deterioration before finally ending up here. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThey are striking against the blue sky. But radiation warnings are always more than a little ominous!

Very, very cool photos. I love the bottom one especially. :)
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. No one is getting past that fence for sure!
ReplyDeleteI really like that second shot!
ReplyDeleteGenie, you're the one person I know who can transform a cell town into something esthetically pleasing to the eye. please don't risk your health for a photograph! happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to get my flatlander legs in shape and be able to do more hiking in the county. In the meantime we're trying to get our horses in shape for the hills!

I love this composition, excellent and very creative, great set of lines, shapes and textures. Saludos.
ReplyDeleteI was going to my Mom's yesterday and was running late. I pulled out my cell phone when I stopped at an Amish store for cheese. I didn't have service and was stunned because I didn't realize I wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteLove your processing on the second shot! Modern day technology with a vintage postcard look. :)
Thought of you when we passed the Lexington exit coming home at Thanksgiving.
