Dawn Breaking on the Creek

I think there may be some hope for me. T’is hard to believe, but I think I’ve FINALLY gotten this straight...the white line across the sky is not a “jet stream” but rather a “contrail.” For some reason I had it in my head that when a “jet” flew overhead, the trail it left behind was a jet stream. Am sorry about that. As my mother used to always say: "It is hard to teach an old dog a new trick.”Her other favorite expression and belief was “That Sputnik is the cause of all of these awful Florida hurricanes and weird weather patterns." It has turned out to be a gorgeous day, and Buddy is OFF work for the 23rd and 24th for the first time in 33 years. That is a fabulous early Christmas present. We are off hiking tomorrow...goodie, goodie. Maybe I will get to see the red barn over by Seneca Falls in West Virginia.

  1. How wonderful that the two of you will be out hiking and getting some great fresh air.

Funny how we get an idea in our head that's hard to correct. But then when we get it...we really do understand. :)

  4. I could tell you that it is not a contrail but a chemtrail, the product of the government spraying mind controlling chemicals in the air, but I won't. You may take me for one of those conspiracy nutz. Have a nice hike tomorrow. Sounds like a good idea and I might do likewise.

  6. You know, you want to call a contrail a jet stream, that works for me.

Great that you n Buddy are off and get to go hike -we are doing the same this morning. We received just enough snow overnight to leave footprints and then coming home to warm our tootsies by the fire.
Merry Christmas to you n yours.
    Cheers
